Audi is about to thrust its new flagship A8 sedan upon the world but UK magazine Autocar has already had a chance to sample one. At launch, the all-wheel-drive sedan will have three engine options: a pair of 4.2-liter V8s in gas and diesel flavors and a 3.0-liter TDI diesel V6. The 3.0-liter is a familiar configuration for Audi, but the unit in the A8 has apparently been re-engineered. With 250 horsepower, it provides ample performance for the big sedan.

All three versions of the 2011 Audi A8 have energy recuperation technology and the 3.0TDI is also equipped with an engine start-stop function. The 2011 Audi A8 price starts at 94,900.00 USD for the 4.2 FSI, at 84,300.00 USD for the 3.0 TDI and at 98,000.00 USD for the 4.2 TDI.

The Audi A8 can save you a lot of money on gas. Audi A8 car has many versions of this model but this is the big engine and very economical car. The car has an enormous 8 cylinder, 4.2 liter, 350 horsepower, twin-turbo engine. Other Audi A8's that even have a smaller engine; they still don't do as well fuel economy per gallon. The Audi car makers say that this diesel version will consume about 40 miles to a gallon. That is going to save a lot of money in a year, compared to all of the other diesel cars.
